About Us
STC sells sheet music (scores and parts) of participating composers in pdf format for immediate download. Customers can receive information about the composers (on the site or in newsletters), get updates (performances, releases, professional engagements, teaching positions, … ) and connect with them.
STC is a musician-run enterprise. Our goal is to create a direct link between composers and bands / performers.
STC was founded by Austrian internationally acclaimed composer Johannes Berauer in 2008. STC has been established by a group of former fellows from the New England Conservatory Jazz Composition program.
STC gives, unlike most publishing companies, the majority of the sales share directly to the composers. We consider it one of our main goals to help young composers in making a living with their art. For this reason our prices are slightly higher than on comparable sites. Please also bare in mind that our charts are not stock arrangements. STC composers are dedicated artists, spending a lot of time, thought and heart on every composition. Therefore, the pieces are unique, have depth and may surprise you at any moment.
STC is a platform for artists. There are no general guidelines for style and genre as long as it is within the wide range of jazz composition and of the highest quality. Our composers represent a wide variety of musical personalities, appealing to customers all along the musical spectrum.
STC is proud of the amount of talent, the variety of musical style and expression and the possibility of connecting composers and ensembles/musicians in a direct and effective way.
STC is an environmentally friendly alternative to the conventional publishing model: scores are only printed when purchased, which means no wasteful overstock!
